ALBERT WILLIAMS
Albert Williams was a passionate singer. Out of all the performers listed in the Kenneth L. Carvell Archive, his appears the most often in the Tri-District Sings recordings because he always took the opportunity to sing at one. My grandma says she thinks of him everytime she hears the hymn "His Eye is On the Sparrow."
Born in 1896 in Lynchburg, VA, Albert Williams came to Sabraton, WV in 1908 to work in the Sabraton Tin Mill at 12 years old. He fought in WWI, worked at the Morgantown Ordnance Works, and in his later years, worked at the Morgantown Post Office till he retired in 1961. He was a long time member of Mount Hermon Baptist Church.
